March for Life Pilgrimage 2017!
Teens in 9th-12th grades are welcome to join the diocesan pilgrimage to the March for Life in Washington, DC. We will leave Tuesday evening, January 24, and arrive Wednesday night on a charter bus. We will be in the DC area Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, then return overnight on the bus to arrive in Bismarck Sunday night, January 29. Highlights of the trip will include the Holocaust Museum, the newly finished JPII Shrine, the Life is Very Good Rally, the Students for Life of America conference, and of course the March itself from the Washington Monument to the steps of the Supreme Court building! Daily Mass will be an important aspect of this pilgrimage to pray for all those who have been or who are at risk of being related to an abortion experience and protest the Roe v Wade decision made an entire generation ago. Love is why we march!
We are able to take up to 40 youth on a first-come, first-serve basis (and waiting list) system. The cost per teen for this 6-day, 5 night trip is $550, and is all-inclusive of meals, tickets, and accommodations. Students may want some pocket money for souvenirs or snacks. Here are some fundraising ideas for asking your parish’s support as you take a stand for life! A $75 deposit is needed to reserve your spot, and the balance is due by Monday, December 5. For other arrangements or for inquiries, please contact Christie Collins at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 864-354-5046.
Here is a draft schedule for the trip for your convenience. It also details our accommodations. A final draft will be made available to all parents, chaperones, and teens at the March Preparation Meeting to be held Monday, December 5 at 7-8 p.m.
